*SPOILERS FOR ALL 7 SEASONS OF THE SHIELD* Okay here's another rant for a show that I haven't shared to many people There is a character in a FX crime procedural The Shield named Julian Lowe. And he has one storyline for his character He's gay And how does his storyline play out T E R R I B L Y  After struggling for a while with internalized anti gay hatred he places himself into conversion therapy, forces himself to be straight and marries a woman. But guess what, that isn't the end of it. While trying to have a child he goes to a sperm bank and masturbates to gay porn and we have a scene where he aggressively reacts to a fellow cop named Tina when she says she has no problem with gay people and a brief scene that i didn't even remember until I went to the Wikipedia page to suggest he still had a desire to be himself......IN THE FINAL EPISODE!!!!!!! Wow. A great opportunity to have a good plot for a gay character dealing with anti gay sentiment and self hatred and ...
